The first patients arrive to Oak Hospital on May 12

HUS Oak Hospital welcomes its first patients on Monday, May 12. The hospital focuses on the treatment of eye diseases. The hospital’s Emergency Outpatient Clinic for Eye Diseases admits patients from 7:30 a.m.

The main entrance A. All units in Oak Hospital can be accessed from the main entrance.

All ophthalmological units in Helsinki will move to Oak Hospital from various locations: Eye and Ear Hospital, Orton building in Ruskeasuo, Rubik building in Pasila, and the Oral and Dental Center. The units will treat patients on a reduced capacity during the move.

The Oak Hospital has three entrances, and the main entrance is located at Paciuksenkatu 8. All units in Oak Hospital can be accessed from the main entrance.

Oak Hospital’s Emergency Outpatient Clinic for Eye Diseases admits patients on May 12, from 7:30 a.m. The emergency clinic is located at entrance C, at the address Zaidankatu 2.

Surgery units, an inpatient ward, and some of the outpatient clinics will start their work already on May 12 when the hospital opens. The units open in the hospital gradually until May 16 as the move progresses.

Drop-off traffic to Oak Hospital must also use the hospital’s garage

Oak Hospital can be easily reached with public transport.

All cars including drop-off traffic must use the Oak Hospital’s garage. Oak Hospital's garage is located on floor K2. Entrance to the garage is from Zaidankatu.

The garage has an entrance for everyone arriving by car, a drop-off and pick-up point, and a waiting room for patients waiting for their ride.

Use Maisa to quickly register for your follow-up appointment

Approximately 1000 patients will be treated at Oak Hospital every weekday. When the hospital opens, there will be volunteers from OLKA and a non-military service person to help patients in registration and finding their way.

Patients who arrive for follow-ups or subsequent visits may register for their appointment with the Maisa mobile app. Many eye diseases outpatient clinics already use this feature. Patients can register using the Maisa app 30 minutes before their appointment at the earliest.
