HUS is now a member of the European University Hospital Alliance EUHA
HUS Group is the 11th member of the European University Hospital Alliance EUHA, a network of leading European university hospitals.
“We are extremely happy that we have been invited to join EUHA. This is a great opportunity for us to collaborate with other high-level European university hospitals. We are looking forward to the possibilities the EUHA membership brings us, including extensive and high-level collaboration, benchmarking, and potentially developing new treatments and medications with other leading European university hospitals”, Matti Bergendahl, the Chief Executive Officer of HUS, says.
“As a full-coverage tertiary level university hospital, HUS Helsinki University Hospital has broad interests in collaborating with other EUHA organizations. In addition, EUHA’s ability to influence EU policymaking from the perspective of university hospitals is also a highly interesting possibility”, Markku Mäkijärvi, the Chief Medical Officer of HUS, says.
Joining forces to improve healthcare outcomes and create sustainable healthcare systems
The European University Hospital Alliance (EUHA) is a network of European university hospitals. The alliance promotes excellence and innovation in healthcare, research and education. EUHA consists of eleven leading European university hospitals that provide specialized medical care, conduct research and train healthcare professionals.
The goal of EUHA is to improve healthcare outcomes and to create a network of sustainable healthcare systems in Europe, making it possible to share best practices and to exchange and cooperate between professionals in concrete projects. This makes it possible for the alliance members to learn from each other and to use shared resources to develop future healthcare.
In addition to HUS, EUHA members include: Vall d’Hebron Barcelona Hospital Campus (Spain), Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin (Germany), Assitance Publique - Hôpitaux de Paris (France), Erasmus MC (the Netherlands), Karolinska University Hospital (Sweden), King’s Health Partners (United Kingdom), Ospedale San Raffaele (Italy), Universtitätsklinikum AKH Wien – Med Uni Wien (Austria), UZ Leuven (Belgium) and Aarhus University Hospital (Denmark).
