Our goal is to ensure safe childbirth and a good experience for all those giving birth. We offer you high-quality, individual, and family-centered care. We are committed to the Baby-Friendly Initiative of WHO and UNICEF.
In addition to the delivery rooms, our facilities offer observation rooms, appointments with midwives specialized in care for the third trimester of pregnancy and fear of childbirth, operating rooms, and a family recovery room. At our labor unit, you can choose from both medicinal and non-medicinal pain relief methods. We also have birthing pools in our unit.
After giving birth, your care will continue in the maternity ward. There maternity wards in Espoo are located in Espoo Hospital and Jorvi Hospital. It is also possible to be discharged directly from the labor unit.
In the Espoo Hospital Obstetrics Emergency Clinic, we examine and treat pregnancy-related complications and other problems when the pregnancy has lasted at least 22 weeks. In addition, we provide emergency treatment for complications associated with childbirth for four weeks after giving birth.
Espoo Hospital prenatal classes and video tours
Welcome to the prenatal classes! In the classes, a midwife from Espoo Hospital and a public health nurse from a maternity health clinic (neuvola) will talk about the stages of labor, pain relief options, and the first days with a newborn. The classes are held online via Teams.
Find out more about the classes here, and view the video tours of our unit.
