At the Gynecological Outpatient Clinic, we treat and examine many gynecological diseases. We also perform procedures and abortions.
The Gynecological Outpatient Clinic is located on the hospital’s second floor, in connection with the delivery rooms and the Maternity Outpatient Clinic. Before arriving for your appointment, you will usually receive a patient history form and a symptom inquiry form for filling out.
You need a physician's referral for treatment and examinations with us.
The most common causes for appointments at our clinic include menstrual disturbances, various pain states, urinary incontinence, and gynecological tumors. We also perform abortions, demanding ultrasound examinations, basic infertility examinations, and examine suspected cancers.
A vaginal ultrasound examination is a common examination conducted at the clinic. We do also hysteroscopies, urinary incontinence surgeries, balloon thermal endometrial ablations, cervical loop diathermy. In addition to the doctor’s appointments, we also have sex counselor's appointments available.
If, based on your visit, we estimate that the treatment of your illness requires a surgical procedure, we will perform the procedure either in the operating room or at our outpatient clinic. We perform hysteroscopies, urinary incontinence surgeries, balloon thermal endometrial ablation procedures, and cervical loop electrosurgical excision procedures at our outpatient clinic.
The care is provided by a physician and a nurse working together. We train future health care professionals in our unit. We hope that you will allow students to participate in your care. Consenting or refusing student participation will not affect your care.
In our appointments, we use a lot of patient history forms and symptom inquiry forms, which allows us more time to focus on reflection and individual counseling on treatment options. Our aim is to try and handle matters flexibly during a single outpatient visit.
Sexual therapy
In sexual therapy, you will be able to reflect on your own sexuality, and the potential challenges associated with it, together with a professional. You will receive information, support, and tools to facilitate resolving your situation.
Common reasons for having a sexual therapy appointment include pains during intercourse, vulvodynia, infertility, disparity of sexual desire, and the effect of obstetric trauma on sexuality. You are welcome to arrive alone or together with your partner for the appointment with the sexual therapist.
