On Hematology Ward 7B at Meilahti Triangle Hospital, we primarily treat patients with malignant hematological diseases. The most common diagnoses in our patients are acute and chronic leukemia, myeloma, lymphoma, and aplastic anemia.
You will arrive on our ward as planned for blood stem cell transplantation and for emergency care in case of complications, such as acute graft-versus-host reaction or infection.
You will be in a single room in protective isolation for almost the entire hospital stay. The treatment time varies from a few days to several months. The treatment period for stem cell transplantation is approximately 4 weeks.
There is also an apheresis unit located on the 4th floor of Meilahti Triangle Hospital that is part of Hematology Ward 7B. In the apheresis unit, we collect stem cells and provide treatments for graft-versus-host disease.
