Arriving at Oak Hospital

Oak Hospital has three entrances.

• The main entrance A is located at Paciuksenkatu 8.
• Entrances B and C are located at Zaidankatu 2.

You cannot drive in front of the entrance. There is only a pedestrian and bicycle route in front of the entrance. If you are arriving by car, please refer to the arrival instructions in the “Parking and escort traffic” section.

Oak Hospital's entrance A

Main entrance A is located on Paciuksenkatu on the hospital’s 2nd floor. Entrance A provides access to all units.

Entrance A leads to the main lobby B where you will find

• info desk
• registration desk
• registration kiosks
• restaurant
• café

Oak Hospital's entrance B

Entrance B is located on Zaidankatu on the hospital’s 1st floor.

Entrance B provides direct access to

• the Cataract Outpatient Clinic and
• Eye Diseases Surgery Unit Lehti.

There is a registration desk for these units at entrance B.

Oak Hospital's entrance C

Entrance C is located on Zaidankatu on the hospital’s 1st floor.

Entrance C provides direct access to

• Eye Diseases Surgery Unit Kaarna and
• the Eye Diseases Emergency Clinic located one floor above.

Entrance C has a registration desk for Surgery Unit Kaarna.

If you are arriving by car at the Eye Diseases Emergency Clinic between 10:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m., please refer to the arrival instructions in the “Parking and escort traffic” section.

The Oak Hospital's info desk, registration desk and self-registration kiosks is located in the main lobby, in the building section A, on the 2nd floor.

You can access the main lobby

• via entrance A or
• with elevator B from the garage.

Registration uses a queue number system.

If you are coming in for a follow-up appointment, you can also use Maisa to register or a self-registration kiosk.

The parking garage’s location and opening hours

The Oak Hospital parking garage P-Tammi is located underground on the K2 floor of the hospital. Entrance to the garage is from Zaidankatu. The garage is open for customers from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.

The parking garage’s maximum height clearance is 2.7 meters.

Escort traffic

Escort traffic arrives at the hospital through the hospital’s parking garage. You cannot drive in front of the entrance doors. 

The garage has a drop-off and pick-up point, and a waiting room for patients waiting for their ride.

Take the elevator B from the garage to the entrance lobby

The garage has an entrance for everyone arriving by car.

You can take the elevator B to the hospital’s main lobby and registration on the 2nd floor. The elevator lobby B in the garage is green.

Payment options

Parking in HUS parking lots is subject to a fee. There are two payment options in the parking garage:

• Payment at the ticket machines by card. The parking meter is located in the garage, in elevator lobby B.
• Payment with a mobile device. You may use the EasyPark or ParkMan apps. For further information, please contact the service providers.

Parking for the disabled

The garage has five parking spaces for people with disabilities. Three spaces are located next to elevator lobby B and two near the elevator lobby C leading to the emergency department and inpatient ward.

The disabled parking permit must be placed inside the car’s windshield so that it is fully visible from the outside. With the disabled parking permit, you can also park in the paid parking spaces for free.

Arriving to the Eye Diseases Emergency Clinic between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m.

Patients arriving to the emergency clinic at night enter from entrance C on Zaidankatu. There is a door phone. Only the short-term parking spaces along Zaidankatu are available between 10 p.m. And 6 a.m.

• The entrances have automatic sliding doors.
• The tactile walking surface indicators on the floor lead from the entrances to the info desks and elevators.
• Oak Hospital's entrance lobbies have tactile maps.
• The elevators have voice announcements in Finnish and Swedish. Braille signs can be found near elevators on each floor of the hospital.
• All floors have a barrier-free restroom.
• The hospital welcomes service and support dogs. However, bringing pets into our facilities is not allowed.
