- In emergencies or if you have questions about the treatment given at the emergency clinic.
- If you have recently been in an eye procedure and you experience any of the eye symptoms mentioned in the home-care instructions, and your local eye diseases unit is not available during the night or weekends.
- On weekdays, we recommend arriving to the Eye Diseases Emergency Clinic between 8 a.m. and 12 noon. After 3 p.m., our emergency clinic operates with a reduced staff.
- When you arrive at the emergency clinic, our healthcare professionals will make an assessment of the need and urgency of your treatment. Patients are treated in the order of urgency, not in the order of arrival. Because of this, a patient who has arrived after you may be admitted for treatment before you.
- Please arrive by public transport or with an escort if arriving by car. Eye drops that blur your vision may be used in the eye examinations, which make it impossible to drive a car.
- If you wear contact lenses, please also bring your eyeglasses with you.
- Bring with you an up-to-date list of your medications and any medication you take regularly. Wait times can sometimes be long.
- We do not renew prescriptions. If you need a prescription renewal, please contact the unit responsible for your care during office hours.
