HUS year 2024: Investments
Our investment costs for 2024 came to EUR 227.6 million. The investment execution rate was 96.8%.
Construction projects
Construction accounted for EUR 187.4 million of the 2024 investments. Of the major construction projects, a total of nine major construction projects exceeding EUR 10 million in cost were in the planning and implementation phase.
- Construction of the new ward building in Jorvi Hospital continued (EUR 93.1 million)
- Construction of Oak Hospital was completed in late 2024 (EUR 41.2 million)
- The implementation planning for the new Pharmacy, central kitchen and parking facility to replace the demolished administrative building in the center of the Meilahti campus area continued during 2024 (EUR 10.4 million).
- The renovation of the A wing of the Women’s Hospital was completed (EUR 6.7 million)
- Project planning for the renovation of the Meilahti procedure wing continued (EUR 3.3 million)
- Implementation planning for the second phase of the renovation of the ‘lower part’ of the Department of Oncology building continued in 2024. Project implementation will proceed in 2025 (EUR 1.6 million)
- Bridge Hospital (EUR 0.9 million)
- Extension and renovation of the surgery unit in Peijas Hospital (EUR 0.7 million)
- Renovation of changing rooms in Meilahti (EUR 0.3 million)
Equipment investments
We invested EUR 19.1 million in research and treatment equipment.
The largest equipment investment project was the two-year equipment and furniture supply for the Oak Hospital construction project, which will continue into 2025.
We spent EUR 15.4 million on ICT investments during the year.
