Social responsibility
Social responsibility means caring for our staff, our patients and their loved ones as well as society as a whole.
We want to take care of our personnel's well-being at work, occupational health and safety, competence, and equal treatment, as motivated personnel who enjoy what they do and who are always striving for improvement is our most important resource.
We want our patients to have access to treatment when they need it, and we want every patient to be treated equally.
We are constantly working with our stakeholders in order to bear our social responsibility to the best of our abilities. We recognize that our choices have a wide impact on different groups and communities.
You can also read about our responsibility work in our annual report.
Safer space
Psychological safety is integral for the wellbeing of our employees.
To improve psychological safety, we have cooperated with our staff to create principles for a safer space at HUS, which also support caring and equality every day.
The Principles of a Safer Space at HUS
- I respect and accept everyone's way of being and self-expression. I do not make assumptions or interpretations of others. I respect everyone's physical integrity.
- I am kind and considerate to everyone. I am responsible for my own behaviour. I am aware of the impact of my actions on others, and I am ready to change it if necessary.
- I care and intervene in offensive, discriminatory or otherwise irresponsible speech and actions.
In a safe space, everyone feels welcome and is allowed to be themselves. A safe space supports diversity and is free from all forms of discrimination and harassment. At HUS, we do not accept any kind of inappropriate treatment, racism of sexual harassment.
Together, we create a safer space.
