New Children's Hospital - Units

The New Children's Hospital chapel and quiet room are available to families and staff.

In the nutritional care offered by New Children’s Hospital, we provide dietary guidance, which includes nutritional assessment and the evaluation of food intake.

On the Pediatric Clinical Neurophysiology ward of the New Children's Hospital, we conduct neurological examinations especially for pediatric patients in neurology, intensive care unit, emergency services and inpatient wards.

In addition to the day hospital activities, Day Hospital and Outpatient Clinic Taika has a procedural unit, hematological outpatient clinic with physicians and nurses, and outpatient clinics for pediatric kidney and liver disease and transplantations with physicians and nurses.

Day Unit Avaruus provides treatment for children and adolescents with mobility impairments and multiple disabilities.

Day Unit Vuori provides care and performs diagnostic examinations for children who have an autistic spectrum disorder or other neurological difficulties.

At the Epilepsy Monitoring Unit Avaruus at the New Children’s Hospital, we perform examinations to find out whether seizures suffered by a child or adolescent patient are epileptic, and if so, what kind of epilepsy they have.

You can approach the hospital chaplains at New Children's Hospital to discuss your own thoughts, feelings, or life's deep, fundamental questions regardless of religious beliefs.

In the Motion Laboratory, we perform gait analyses utilizing state of the art 3D movement analysis. We are also able to analyze and assess muscle activity, strength and range of motion, balance issues, and foot function.

In the Neonatal Follow-up Outpatient Clinic at Women's Hospital, we treat children under the age of one.
