- Our regional committee on research ethics developed its activities at the national level.
- We developed support functions for researchers.
- We started publishing a regular newsletter to enhance communication with researchers.
- We actively visited the units and various events to talk about services.
We invest in applying for funding through collaboration and training
In 2024, the total funding for HUS research, innovation and teaching activities was approximately 50 million euros. Of this, HUS’s own research funding accounted for 17 million euros and the Government’s research funding (VTR) accounted for 10 million euros.
HUS and the clinical researchers at HUS were very successful in obtaining outside funding. In 2024, we established our position among organizations in Finland that have received EU’s research, development and innovation funding, ranking at 16th place in Business Finland’s statistics.
We also tightened our collaboration with the experts in research funding at the University of Helsinki and HUS at the Meilahti campus. In the fall, a new series of research funding seminars, Winning Bid, started as a collaboration between the University and HUS. Together, we also organized an information event for researchers interested in applying for funding from the Research Council of Finland.
